HELP & CONTACT

We’re here to help.

Updated 7 October 2026

Things Retold is in early access. Start small, keep your originals and download an archive copy regularly. Payments are not enabled.

Things Retold is operated by Sindre. sindre.alstad@gmail.com

Getting started

Sign in with the code sent to your email. Create a family archive, then add an object with photos, a story or a recording. You can return to an object and choose “Add more photos” to include its back, signature and details.

Inviting family

Open Family to create an invitation for a specific email address and role. Share the personal link with that person. They need to sign in with the same address to accept. You can revoke invitations and remove access in Family.

Researching an object

AI research is currently available to selected test accounts. You choose up to three photos and review the existing object information before anything is sent. Research offers sources and possible matches, not a certified valuation. Empty fields can be filled from suggestions only after your review.

Limits and keeping a copy

The standard early access allowance is five objects and 100 MB per archive. Some test archives have different allowances. Owners and stewards can export the stored photos, audio and readable stories. Photos are processed to remove embedded location and camera metadata, so the stored copies are not the original files. Automatic import and full recovery are not yet available. Keep the exported ZIP and your original files somewhere safe.

Something went wrong?

Keep the editor open if a save fails. Download your text before reloading. Check that your connection is working, then retry. If an email code does not arrive, check spam and confirm the address. Wait for the resend timer before requesting another code.
